![]() Christmas Tree Farm Home Grown Trees For A Great Cause
![]()
30 years ago, on top of Bluff mountain in rural Mercer County West Virginia, Kolan Lilly planted a few acres of Frasier fir with hopes of eventually selling a few Christmas trees. Today Lilly has over 700 acres with every size of Frasier fir imaginable, and is the proud owner of one of the largest tree farms in West Virginia. It takes a lot of year round sweat equity to maintain a Christmas tree farm of this size, and for those who prefer a real tree at Christmas over artificial..there is no better place to find the perfect tree than this mountain top farm. In 2008, Kolan's wife passed away after a courageous battle with breast cancer, and this year he has decided to donate a portion of his Christmas tree sales to the Susan G. Komen foundation for breast cancer research. You can find Kolan's trees locally at Charleston's Capital Market, and several other locations around the state.
