After a long career in the oil industry, Gene Wells wanted a change. "I woke up one morning and realized I had teenagers is the house" says Wells. Always a can do kinda guy, Gene has the unique ability to see a problem, solve it, and make it better. After a negative experience at a local bike repair shop fourteen years ago, Wells decided to teach himself cycle repair, the result was Fat Tire Cycle, central West Virginia's premiere bike shop. During a bike tour in Costa Rica, Wells got hooked on the freshly roasted coffee, he came home and eventually created Mountain Roaster. Gene takes the time to roast his premium coffee beans by hand in small batches to create the most unique and flavorful roasts. Brewed coffee is at it's best when the beans are freshly roasted, so the coffees you choose today will be in your hands as soon as tomorrow.
