![]() Glass Engraver Splendor In The Glass
For 36 years, artisan Catherine Miller has pursued the dying art of intaglio crystal engraving and specializes in original one of a kind heirloom items.
Catherine's inspiration to engrave originated with an article in National Geographic covering the dying art of copper wheel engraving. Perfecting her passion, Catherine achieved her goal of becoming a world class engraver and works without the use of stencils or patterns. By staying true to the old world method of hand engraving into crystal with a variety of stone wheels of different diameters and profiles on a lathe, Catherine is able to create unique masterpieces with great detail. Several of her pieces have taken close to 200 hours to engrave. FOR MORE INFORMATION
