Paul Adkins became interested in bird carving about thirty years ago. He is self taught, having carved birds for about ten years before seeing a carving book. After he ordered some books by carvers like Ernest Muehlmatt, Floyd Scholz and Rosalyn Daisey Paul he was hooked. This is a hobby that has turned into a passion, or a hobby that's gotten out of control.

Having been born and raised in W.Va. Paul has a natural love of the outdoors and all of God's creations. Each carving is carved from Linden wood or "Basswood" and Tupelo wood and painted with acrylic paints.
