In 1950, a Charleston institution was born, simply called The Peanut Shoppe, it has become the longest running business on Capitol Street. Owned by Debbie Kimble, who is a second generation peanut guru, the business is going just as strong as it was the day it opened. Debbie and company specialize in hot roasted peanuts, freshly prepared cashews, and several types of candy. With that fresh roasted aroma drifting out onto Capitol Street every day at noon, The Peanut Shoppe atrracts customers from several blocks away.
