![]() Appalachian String Band Music Festival Fiddle and banjo contests, string bands and traditional mountain music are offered this weekend. Photojournalist Larry Clark takes you to Camp Washington Carver for the Appalachian String Band Music Festival.
The West Virginia Culture and History Center is hosting the 16th Annual Applachian String Band Music Festival. It's a 5 day mountaintop gathering of musicians and friends at Camp Washington Carver at Clifftop in Fayette county. Over 3,000 musicians and string band music lovers from around the world come to the camgrounds for contests, concerts, workshops, square dancing, camping and a hymm-sing. Through the years over 20 foreign countries and 40 of the 50 states have been represented at the festival.
