![]() West Virginia Cave Conservancy Greenbrier county is home to a group dedicated to protecting West Virginia's caves.
West Virginia is a cavers paradise! There are literally thousands of caves in West Virginia. The West Virginia Cave Conservancy's mission is to conserve, protect and appreciate the caves here. Educating the public about the vital role caves play in a healthy environment, the impact of ground water and spelunking safely and responsibility are also goals for the group. With a membership of about 200, the WV Cave Conservancy explores a world few have seen. They make it clear that anyone in reasonably good health can enjoy this somewhat obscure sport with the right equipment and training. The Conservancy encourages anyone interested to contact them, learn a great deal and have a lot of fun while learning.
