![]() Dulcimer Maker The dulcimer is an instrument with a rich history in Appalachia and traces its roots all the way back to the Emerald Isle. Photojournalist Brad Rice takes us to artist Robert Worth's Woodworking to see the hand crafted dulcimers he builds.
Simple and elegant are the 2 best words that describe Bob Worth's dulcimers. His interest in music was born in his childhood but the dulcimer has captured his heart. Not only does he play but Bob builds some of West Virginia's most beautiful musical instruments. Dulcimers came to our region along with Scotch/Irish immigrants and have stood the test of time, making the instruments a standard in Appalachian music.
