Family Feud host, Richard Karn Multi-talented television and film actor, Richard Karn is the host of the classic game show series "Family Feud.".

One of television's most loved comedic actors, Karn is best known to audiences as "Al Borland," Tim Allen's craftsman sidekick on the top-rated sitcom, "Home Improvement," which premiered on ABC in 1991. Karn portrayed the popular handyman role for eight years. Ironically, Karn himself hails from a long line of builders. His father is a retired Seattle architect and builder.

Karn has also starred in a number of other projects for both the big and small screen. Most recently he appeared in Disney's "Air Bud IV: Seventh Inning Fetch" which was released in June 2002. He has also starred in the family film "MVP: Most Vertical Primate" and in another Disney feature, "Pooch and the Pauper." In 1997, he appeared in the thriller "Bram Stoker's The Mummy."

On television, Karn both produced and starred in his first made-for-TV film, "Picture Perfect" which aired on ABC in 1995. He has also enjoyed guest roles on a variety of hit television series including "That 70's Show" for Fox, "The Chronicle" for The Sci-Fi Network and the animated series "Recess" for Disney.

A Broadway veteran, Karn starred in a number of hit stage plays, including Larry Shue's "The Foreigner" in the title role, "Me and My Girl," "Losing It" and "The Other Shore." In Los Angeles, he starred in the premiere of "Our Father," which was selected as a Critic's Choice by the Los Angeles Times.

In addition to his extensive stage and screen career, Karn is a published author. In 1999 he co-authored his first book, House Broken: How I Remodeled My House for Just Under Three Times the Original Bid/Harper Entertainment, a humorous look at the trials and tribulations he and his wife endured rebuilding their dream house. Karn is awaiting the publication of his second book, Handy at Home/St. Martins Press, which will be available in bookstores October 2002.

A graduate of the Professional Actors Program at the University of Washington in Seattle, Karn began his professional acting career in New York City, on and off Broadway.

Karn is a spokesman for a number of corporate clients and is the host of the Karn Invitational, a celebrity golf tournament held in his native Seattle, which he started in 1994. The event has raised a million dollars for cancer research.

He resides in Los Angeles with his wife Tudi and son Cooper.
