Microwave Baked Apples

Quick, easy and delightfully delicious! Nearly any variety of apple will bake well except the Red Delicious. Favorites are Romes and Golden Delicious as they hold their texture better than most.

Ingredients

  • apples
  • butter or margarine
  • cinnamon
  • brown sugar

Directions

Simply core your apples with a coring tool and place in a microwave-safe tray or deep dish.

Stuff each apple hole with a little butter or margarine. Then, stuff each hole with a pinch of brown sugar and a 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon.

Cover with Saran Wrap and poke a few holes to allow steam to escape. Microwave on high for 15 to 20 minutes. Baste after 10 minutes once or twice from the sauce in the bottom of the tray. Length of time to cook depends on the number of apples to be cooked and your microwave.

Just experiment and have fun. Serve as a side dish for breakfast or for dessert, with or without ice cream. Excellent!

Enjoy!
