National Visible Satellite Image

United States Visible satellite image

The Visible satellite imagery is imagery that meteorologists use only during the day. You ask why? Well it has to do with the postion of the satellite in space. The visible satellite imagery comes from a satellite that is in a fixed location. Keep in mind the earth rotates, so that during the day we are receiving imagery but once we go into evening the Western Hemisphere is in darkness and we cannot get images. Visible Satellite images are updated every 30 minutes during daylight hours.
