Desktop Alert from the Eyewitness News Storm Team A FREE desktop utility for your Windows PC The Storm Team Desktop Alert will keep you updated all day on weather happenings and alert your desktop, email and even your cell phone, to any approaching severe weather. Desktop Alert will also allow you to view temperatures, radar, storm tracking, news stories, severe weather updates and the exclusive Eyewitness News Storm Team Webcast right from your desktop, anytime, day or night. This small application runs on your Microsoft Windows® computer and displays an icon your system tray next to the clock. While connected to the Internet, Desktop Alert gets your current temperature, based on your location, which is displayed next to the clock that appears in your system tray. Storm Team Desktop Alert constantly monitors severe weather to determine if there are any severe weather alerts in effect. Based on your own personalized settings, the Desktop Alert immediately notifies you of urgent severe weather alerts by playing a sound, by flashing, and by changing colors. When you double click the Desktop Alert icon you may quickly access the severe weather map on your Desktop Alert window for complete details about just issued National Weather Service watches, warnings, or advisories.
