The 24th annual West Virginia Hunting and Fishing show is right around the corner and, once again, this is the biggest deal in state. Glen Jarrell with The West Virginia Trophy Hunters Association says this is a big deal.

"The show this year is, without a doubt, the biggest outdoor show in the state. We have exotic outfitters coming in from New Zealand, South Africa, we have trophy hunters from the Western US for elk hunts and mule deer hunts."

There are also plenty of folks from up north ready to take you fishing on the Great Lakes, bear hunting in Maine, or caribou hunting in Canada. Division of Natural Resources biologists will be back for one of the most popular features at the show, they'll score your buck and show off your trophy buck...if it's big enough!

And speaking of popular, the auction is back!

"All the vendors donate trips, outdoor apparel of any kind, hunting and fishing equipment. We get some great deals, we really do. That's Saturday afternoon at five." says Jarrell.

This event has continued to grow over the years, but one thing never changes for Glen, the enjoyment he gets out of seeing everyone have a good time. Jarrell says it's like a reunion of sorts.

"The favorite part is seeing all the people come in renewing acquaintances with the vendors and outfitters. Guys meet with the Trout Unlimited guys, swap stories and tie flies. It's just the great friendships with all the people coming together at the show. Every year, they come back and talk about the hunting and fishing trips."

They'll be back again this year, so will I. Make sure you check out our booth just down the hall from Addington's.
