Stonewall Jackson Lake Resort State Park is the place to be this weekend. You and 20,000 other folks will get

J.R. Hill/DNR says:
"For the youngsters, we have several interactive events. The kids archery has always been popular. We have a group that comes up from the Kanawha Valley that introduces kids to air rifles, we have public clay bird shooting, we have fishing available for catfishing in the lake, casting instruction and demonstrations, black powder shooting-gosh, you name it and it's probably here."

The National Hunting and Fishing Days run the entire weekend, and you might need that much time if you want to check out each of the booths and vendors who'll be there.

J.R. Hill/DNR says:
"Probably in the neighborhood of 200 in round numbers. We have a bunch of West Virginia vendors who specialize in hunting and fishing type crafts. We have several people from surrounding states, food vendors-it's a big activity."

Big enough to have something for everyone. JR's a veteran of the National Hunting and Fishing Days and he still get's a kick out of attending the event.

J.R. Hill/DNR says:
"I kinda enjoy seeing the kids and how they react to the activities, especially those that have not been exposed to them before. It is very popular and we do have a lot of people that have come back one year from the next, just to bring thier kids here."

I'll be bringing mine and I hope to see yours at Stonewall Jackson Lake Resort State Park this weekend.
