The National Hunting and Fishing Days with all it has to offer rolls around this weekend at Stonewall Jackson Lake Resort and State Park.

Marshall Snedegar/DNR says:
"It's Saturday, September 24th and Sunday September 25th. It runs from 9-6 on Saturday and 9-4 on Sunday. It's $3 for adults to get in, kids under 15 are $1 and kids under 3 are free."

People will get the chance to shoot shotguns, or check out the latest hunting gear. Even if you don't hunt...there's something there for you, too.

Marshall Snedegar/DNR says:
"We have all kinds of things planned for this year. We have over 100 vendors with all kinds of hunting and fishing supplies. We have seminars on cyote hunting, on deer hunting, on West Virginia snakes. There's going to be a lot of activities going on. This is a family affair.
Even if you've never caught a five pound bass, you'll get a chance to see one in the portable aquarium that will be at the hunting and fishing days.

You can bite off a chunk of wild bear or watch a dnr biologist field dress a deer in 15 minutes.

Or you can just take the kids and spend the day having fun. That's what it's all about.

Marshall Snedegar/DNR says:
"We have all kinds of activities for the kids, from little kids who can paint wildlife and do fish rolls to the older kids who can actually compete for, in essence, the youth sportsman of the year, so we have all kids of things for kids and family."
