More than 100 vendors will be on hand at Stonewall Jackson Resort State Park this weekend. But this isn't your ordinary trade show. You'll have the chance to shoot guns, cast a line and eat some game.

Whether it's shooting sporting clays, learning to call in game, or getting fishing tips, you can get it all at this weekend's national hunting and fishing days.

Marshall Snedegar
DNR Biologist
"We have activities for kids, for women, for hutners and fishers. We have activities of all kinds. We have great seminars and speakers on deer grunting and rattling, coyote hunting and West Virginia snakes."

Located at the beautiful Stonewall Jackson Resort State Park, folks will have two days to absorb all the National Hunting and Fishing Days has to offer.

And kids just love it. They get to cast a line and catch some fish. They'll also learn how to cook what they catch. This is a real hands on experience.

Marshall Snedegar
DNR Biologist
"Everything is right here for you to see and touch. It's not like looking at something out of a catalog. It's right there for you to pick up, try and size. You can shoot a gun, a muzzle loader, sporting clays, bow and arrow."

It's a great way to introduce folks to guns and poles, bows and arrows. Maybe one day new hunters will be able to put one of these trophies on their own wall and a long, Mountain State tradition in their lives.

National Hunting and Fishing Day It's ingrained in the culture and West Virginians hunt to put food on their table, too. We like that natural connection to the land and I think that's a critical part to most West Virginians.

If it's not now, it most likely will be after experiencing the national hunting and fishing show this weekend.

National Hunting and Fishing Day runs this Saturday and Sunday. Admission is $2.00 for adults and $1.00 for children.
