Rick Lord A deadly day inside a school in Massachusetts, a row of houses comes crumbling down in Pennsylvania, and a scrambled egg in Oregon on this USA Update

Massachusetts... one person is dead and ten other people were taken to the hospital after a HazMat incident at an elementary school. The person who died was an employee working in the building at the time. Nine of the people taken to the hospital were public safety employees, and the other was a staff member. Most of the victims were treated for eye and throat irritation. No word yet on exactly what caused the problem...

Pennsylvania... rescuers rush to the scene of a West Philadelphia neighborhood after reports of two row houses collapsing onto each other. The second floor of one home came crashing down onto the first floor. The second home then pancaked toward the first home. Firefighters spent hours looking for possible victims in the rubble, but said there were no injuries...

Oregon... a fairy tale comes to life in Salem. At the Enchanted Forest Amusement Park, a cement Humpty Dumpty art piece took a great fall of his own and smashed into bits on the sidewalk. Two men climbing over the retaining wall knocked him over. No king's horses or king's men to turn this into a good ending-- Humpty Dumpty is done. But he had a good run; he'd been sitting on that wall since 1970. And that's the last chapter to this USA Update.
