USA Update

Rick Lord Chaos at a car dealership in Florida, don't cry over spilled milk in Ohio, and a well-caffeinated class in California on this USA Update

February 5, 2014
Reporter: Rick Lord

Florida... a gunman is shot dead after opening fire at a car dealership in Perry. Police say the suspect intentionally drove his truck into the dealership, then got out and began firing. He hit three people, including a deputy who was at the dealership for service on his patrol car. That deputy then shot and killed the gunman. No motive yet, or any possible connection between shooter and the victims, who are all expected to survive.,.

Ohio... It's a slippery situation in Belmont County. Take a look at the way this milkman delivered the milk. The tanker truck slid off a steep hill and crashed right into this home. Luckily, a man and his nurse in the home were not injured. And nearby, on the westbound lanes of I-70, two tractor trailers jackknifed causing a traffic nightmare during the morning rush hour...

California... here's one class students will be sure not to sleep through. UC Davis has a new chemical engineering class called "Design of Coffee." Here, students learn how to brew, roast and grind coffee. The class consists of a one hour lecture each week and two hours of lab time. Grades are based on who brews the best coffee and how little energy it takes to do so. And with that we hope we perked you up on this USA Update.
