Tennessee... a massive fire breaks out at a plastics recycling plant, sending black, toxic fumes billowing into the air. A four-mile radius around the plant was evacuated, and crews were forced to back off the fire for awhile. They were also worried about a huge a propane tank exploding, so they kept a continuous stream of water on that tank to keep it cool. So far, no injuries reported...

North Carolina... several passengers were injured when a private ferry ran aground near Battery Island. Thirteen people were hurt and taken back to shore by the U.S. Coast Guard after the 64-foot adventure ferry hit a sand bar. There were 53 passengers and three crew members on board at the time of the crash, which is under investigation...

Wisconsin... the U.S. Navy's newest high-tech vessel is in commission. A large crowd gathered in Marinette for the christening and launch of the USS Milwaukee. A champagne bottle was broken across the hull, and the ship was sent sliding sideways into the Menominee River. The Milwaukee is the third littoral combat ship built at Marinette Marine Corporation. And with that, our voyage is over on this USA Update.
