Phillies lead Dodgers 8-5 after six October 10, 2008 7:25 PM PHILADELPHIA The Philadelphia Phillies are three innings away from flying west to Los Angeles with a 2-0 lead in the National League Championship Series.
Brett Myers was a hit for the Phillies on the mound and at the plate. He limited the Dodgers to five runs on six hits through his five innings. At the plate, Myers had two hits and has driven in two runs. Chad Durbin relieved Myers and hurled a scoreless sixth. Shane Victorino has two hits and has driven in four runs for the Phils. The Phillies were leading 8-2 before Manny Ramirez connected for a three-run homer in the fourth inning. Chad Billingsley of the Dodgers was knocked out in the third inning after giving up eight runs on eight hits. The teams have Saturday off as a travel day. When the series resumes Sunday at Chavez Ravine, it will be 45-year-old Jamie Moyer pitching for Philadelphia against the Dodgers' Hiroki Kuroda . |
