Massachusetts defeats St. Bonaventure 76-67

AMHERST, Mass.
Jesse Morgan scored 24 points and Massachusetts defeated St. Bonaventure 76-67 on Wednesday night for its 11th straight win at home.



UMass trailed by 10 points in the first half and took the lead for good after a 14-0 run to start the second half gave it a 45-34 cushion with 17 minutes to play. The Bonnies trimmed the lead to 54-51 on a layup by Andrew Nicholson. UMass then went on a 17-2 run for its biggest lead of the game at 71-53 with 3:59 remaining.

The Minutemen made 16 of 28 field goals in the second half and shot 48.1 percent for the game.

Chaz Williams added 17 points and Terrell Vinson had 10 for UMass , which has won four of its past five games.

Nicholson scored 24 points on 11 of 17 shooting for the Bonnies .
