Chiefs TE saves choking man
July 07, 2008 7:22 PM

KANSAS CITY, Mo.
To Ken Hunter, Chiefs tight end Tony Gonzalez is a life-saver.

Hunter got a piece of meat stuck in his throat while dining at a Huntington Beach, California, restaurant last week. He couldn't breath and started turning blue. Gonzalez was dining at the next table with his wife and family members when Hunter's girlfriend started screaming.

The 6-foot-5 All-Pro jumped up and performed the Heimlich maneuver on the 45-year old Hunter. After a few seconds, the piece of meat popped out. Gonzalez says he had no formal training on performing the Heimlich but had seen it done.
