Football Scrapbook: Fred Taylor

Many high school coaches will tell you one of their goals each season is to be practicing on Thanksgiving Day. If so, it means they are still alive in the West Virginia High School Football Playoffs.

In 1972, Fred Taylor was coaching in a game on Thanksgiving. And in the end, his Ravenswood Red Devils were celebrating a Class AA state championship.

It was just one of the many highlights in a glorious coaching career for this Roane County native and former Glenville State Pioneer.

Mark Martin visits with Taylor, a winner of 211 games, in this edition of Friday Night Football Scrapbook.
