School: Wayne Primary Sport: Football The Wayne Pioneers are heading back to the state championship game, giving seniors like Zach damron another shot at a ring. "This week is huge. We've worked all year to go to the state championship. Biggest obstacle we have faced so far." Damron was a big key in the pioneers shut out of Robert C. Byrd, adding another notch to his best season yet. "Its been everything i could've asked for. We've all put in everything we've could. We've all put in 100 percent every down. Can't ask anymore from them." Zach is thankful for everything he has learned so far at Wayne, as it prepares his for life after football. "Shaped me into the person i am today. Everything you go throught, the obstacles you go through in football completely it helps you in life." Damron carries a 3.8 GPA, taking his hardwork from the field to the classroom. "Same as i do out here. I just study and do the best that i can. Its what you have to do later in life, might as well get good at it in high school." The Pioneers will play for another piece of hardware on friday night, something Damron wants to bring back to his hometown. "To have two in high school would be insane in four years. That would be three out of four years going to state in high school, not many can say that." |
