School: Huntington Primary Sport: Football As a freshman Mark Shaver walked into a Highlander program that only had a couple wins in the last few years, but his class was able to change things around and turn Huntington into a winning program. "Our class has pretty much been winners and we don't expect to lose. We don't expect to get beat at all that's just how we've grown up. We were planning on bringing that to here and its been working pretty good." Shaver is the QB of a very productive offense, giving him several chances to make plays. "Triple option is good. I just love being able to work with my feet as well as my arm." The best part of Mark's game is how he uses his teammates, putting them in the right spot on almost every play. "The weapons help so much, we've been a little unhealthy throughout the year. Nick is back, charles is back and it looks like we will get our recievers back so it looks like we will be good going into the out stretch." Shaver carries a 3.8 GPA. Taking his work ethic from the gridiron to the classroom. "My grades have always been pretty good, i'm taking a couple of college classes and its going pretty good." The Highlanders made it to the 2nd round of the playoffs a year ago, but Shaver and company have bigger plans for 2012. "This year that won't be good at all. Martinsburg had been there before but that's no excuse. This year will be different." |
