Student: Phillip Sands
School: Sissonville
Primary Sport: Football

Its his senior season at Sissonille, and everything seems to be going in the right direction for his team. "We've had a great season so far. We haven't had the best seasons in the past. Its really exciting to see everyone care about the season."

Sands has been forced to sit out his last campaign due to a illness that causes seizures, causing him to miss the game he loves. "It was hard. I was all tore up when the doctor told me i couldn't play. After that, i said i'm not going to be one of those people who said to give up and i'll stay and help out the team."

The condition has not dampered Phillip's spirit or dedication, he attends every practice and game as a manager, trying to help out anyway he can. "I'm one of those people that go one hundred percent in everything i do. Whether its on the field or out here i'm one hundred percent all the way."

Sands carries a 3.5 GPA, taking his never say die attitude into the classroom. "I'm usually a 3.5. I work my butt off in the classroom and out here."

Though he can't be on the field, his teammates made him a captain, and he would love to see Sissonville finish strong. "I see us going to the playoffs. Beating hoover beating our rival beating the bigger guys and proving we are an actual team."
