School: St. Albans Primary Sport: Track and Field Its been a long time coming, but Bethany Drury's hardwork in shot put and discus is finnally paid off. "Compared to this time last year, I've improved 10 feet in shot put which is a substainal improvement and with discus its been about 20 feet. I'm really happy with my accomplishments. Drury is currently ranked number one is shot put in girls triple a, but she has bigger plans than just a state championship. "I'm really aiming for the state meet record at the least. I've worked my butt off to get here so its defiently paid off." Bethany carries a 4.0 GPA, working just as hard off the field as she does on it. "I study it back and forth to get it right. I say i study two hours a day with homework and everything." Drury will take her talents to Marshall next season, for a chance to compete on the biggest stage. "I'm just escatic that i get to go there on a scholarship and get to throw with whom i want to throw with." Bethany has lofty goals for the end of her high school career, and personal best at the state meet would be a fitting end. "I've worked so hard for not even just 4 years but 6 years now. My goal has always been to break the state record so i'm really aiming for it. |
