School: Huntington Primary Sport: Wrestling The State Wrestling Meet is the biggest event of the year. Something Huntington's Justin Arthur is very familiar with. "Its the most important week of the season and its important to me and everyone else on the team, and nothing less than first" Arthur said. As a freshman, Arthur won it all at 119. A experience of a lifetime. "You go from winning the Cabell County Championship and thinking its the greatest thing. Then you step on center stage at the Civic Center downtown, its just unbelieveable." Last year at 130, Justin fell in the semi-finals. Something that has haunted him all year. "It changed me as a person. It made you want to get up and six in the morning to get a extra workout in. It made you want to hurt after a practice, it just makes you want to work out harder than what you ever had before." Arthur carries a 3.7 GPA, and he knows without the grades he can't compete. "Keeping your GPA up and all that stuff in the classroom is not easy but you got to do what you got to do to be able to wrestle." This past Saturday, Arthur won a second title. Completing a season of hard work and dedication. "It means everything, i don't think i can feel the way i felt last year losing in the semi-finals. I don't ever want to feel that pain again." . |
