School: George Washington Primary Sport: Swimming The State Meet is the biggest stage for West Virginia High School Swimming. A place GW's Micheal Case hopes to shine on. "State's the biggest meet of the year, we train all year for this. Some of the regular season meets are not as big as it" Case said. Case's role has changed on the team in the recent years, and in 2012 he was asked to make more of an impact. "I haven't always been the keyest member of the team, but I've played my role and this year its a little bigger." Micheal has been battling an injured shoulder all season, but has put the pain away to focus on the task at hand. "I've had a shoulder problem all year, its not a tear but it was almost as bad. So, I've been fighting through that but with it being state meet its time to put it all on the line," Though he is busy at the pool, Case carries a 4.3 GPA. Challenging himself with tough classes. "Mainly honors courses, chemistry, bio, and all of those things. GW is a school of excelence so its great to be part of a school like that." This past weekend the Patriots won yet another AAA State Title. The third is Case's four years, something he'll cherish forever. "It would be something to tell my future kids about. Something to be proud of my entire life and something to cherish with my teammates." |
