Buffalo softball is rich with tradition with 2011 being one of its best seasons, and its also been a year to remember for senior Tara Evans."We started off real strong. I think we have good teamwork and a good team ethic and we push ourselves here really far." Evans said.
Evans is familar with the history the Bison has, as a four year starter she has seen a lot of ups and downs, and has learned a lot from her head coach.
"Hard work with Darrel Moore. You have to push yourself and be determined because anyone can take your spot. We have a lot of good girls that can play anytime they want." says Evans.
Evans is one of the bison's best hitters with a .300 plus batting average, quite the feat with learning how to switch hit.
"That was very tough, getting the slap and then the bunt. Just looking at the defense and deciding what you want to do."
Evans has earned at 3.8 gpa, all in part to tough classes at Buffalo.
"I have to ap classes and they are very stressful with school, work, and sports, its very tough."
The Bison haven't seen a state title since 2004, and evans would love her senior campaign.
"We have to stay focused, see what we can get through and hopefully win a championship."
