Student: Noah Osborne
School: Teays Valley Christian
Primary Sport: Basketball

Scoring 1,000 points in a basketball career is quite an accomplishment for a player. Teays Valley Christian's Noah Osborne was honored at a recent game for reaching the milestone. Not bad for a player who is just a junior.

"He's a great offensive player who brings a lot of defensive intensity," said head coach Troy McGrew. "Every game you know who is going to show up. He leads all of the players, not only verbally but the way he plays the game as a leader. We really enjoy having him around."

Osborne is thankful for his teammates and coaches who were part of the achievement.

"There's really good teammates here...really smart," said Osborne. "They know how to play."

If his name sounds familiar from a basketball aspect it should, he's the nephew of Poca head coach Allen Osborne.

"Obviously one of the best coaches in West Virginia," he said. "He's helped me a lot and I've learned a lot from him."

Osborne still has the remainder of this season and all of next to look forward to, but is contemplating a shot at the next level.

"I want to do it," he said, "whatever happens...happens."

McGrew added, "That's exciting to think that we're going to have the benefit of having him another year. I truly look forward to having him develop into a player who can compete at the next level."
