School: Hurricane High School Primary Sport: Cross Country Regionals will unfold this week, with the state meet set for November 1. While Hurricane's Prince isn't at the head of the pack in most meets for the Redskins, she is still a leader "I might not be in the top all the time as far as the team, but I try to lead them emotionally and mentally," she said. As a senior, she is proud of the team's bevy of young talent. "We have the whole state championship 4x8 (800 relay squad) team on our team," she said. "Sahara Assi and Sarah Davis are on that along with Josie (Crouch) and Alex (Dent). They're all spectacular runners and we have some younger girls. Sophomore Kristen Hayslett and Kaley Gregory and we have another junior, Katie Morrison and we all work really hard." Juggling running and academics isn't always easy but Prince has enjoyed the challenge. "I take pretty hard classes and I try to be the best athlete I can be for my teammates," she said. She is Hurricane's Prince and is hopeful of helping her team be crowned state champs next weekend.
