School: St. Albans High School Primary Sport: Cross Country November 1 signals the end of the cross country season in the state of West Virginia. The big state meet will unfold that day at Cabell Midland High School. St. Albans High School's Caleb Ellis is hoping to be there. To say Ellis and the Red Dragon team of 2008 are close would be an understatement. "We call ourselves the 'Corps Four,' sort of a little nickname," he said. "We're close, we do our workouts together." Ellis is one of four seniors doing his part to build a solid program. "It's really just the mileage I've been doing," he said. "I've been running 75 miles a week. Since we've had Coach Henley, our workouts have so much better than what they were." To run requires discipline, which has helped Ellis do well in the classroom. "Some of it (good grades) just comes naturally to me, I lie to think that I work pretty hard, too," he said. "I try to hit it pretty hard." Ellis and his teammates are looking forward to the rest of the season and on November 1 they set out to bring respect to the St. Albans program. Respect they hope will continue for years to come.
