Scholar Athlete of the Week
from Eyewitness Sports Online

Mark MartinEach week WCHS-TV/WVAH-TV honors one of the area's top athletes, who also excels in the classroom. Sports Director Mark Martin profiles these athletes each Monday night during FOX 11's Eyewitness News at 10 on WVAH and again during Eyewitness at 11 on WCHS.

These athletes all hail from area schools. They can be nominated by coaches, athletic directors and principals from their respective school. The sports department of the two stations also nominates individuals.

The sports department of WVAH and WCHS selects the recipients each week.

The two stations are honored as well to select athletes from the sports of golf, soccer, football, volleyball, cheerleading, swimming, wrestling, girls basketball, boys basketball, tennis, track and field, softball and baseball throughout the school year.
