The Road To Wheeling: Wirt County
2009 West Virginia High School Football

Not since 1994 has a Wirt County Tiger football team made the Class A playoffs in West Virginia. After a 15-year hiatus, the Orange & Black will be back.

The 2009 edition of Tigers will not only be playing but will host a first round game. The Tigers finished 8-2 and came in at number six in the final set of ratings. Iaeger (8-2) will come to Wilson-Eismon Field as the 11th-seeded Class A team.

This marks the final year for Iaeger. Next fall the McDowell County school will merge with Big Creek to form Riverview High School.

We visit with Wirt County head football coach Jason Hickman on "The Road to Wheeling."
