The Road To Wheeling Round 3: Magnolia
2009 West Virginia High School Football

The Magnolia Blue Eagles will be gunning for a second straight trip to the Class AA state championship game on Friday night when the No. 2-seeded and undefeated Blue Eagles meet No. 6 Bluefield, 10-2.

The Blue Eagles lost to Grafton last year in the championship game. Magnolia and Bluefield have rich football traditions but will be meeting for the first time.

Magnolia is 0-5 in championship games. Bluefield has won six titles, three as a AA school and three more when it played at the AAA level.

The winner gets the survivor of Saturday's Frankfort-Wayne game.

The Class AA championship game is set for 7:30 Friday, December 4, at Wheeling Island Stadium.
