West Virginia 48, Marshall 23

Excitement filled the air in Huntington on September 8, 2007 as a West Virginia football team invaded the city for only the second time ever in the second installment of the Friends of Coal Bowl.

Marshall owned a 13-6 lead at halftime against the Mountaineers. In the second half, though, West Virginia's high-octane offense got in gear.

Pat White threw for 149 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 125 yards and scoring once. Steve Slaton rushed for 146 yards on 24 carries and scored twice. Noel Devine also had a pair of scores for WVU.

Marshall's Bernard Morris threw for 256 yards and two scores. Darius Marshall had 80 yards rushing and 108 in kickoff returns.

A record crowd of 40,383 witnessed the game.
