Odom signing could be Bengals start in upgrade of defensive line CINCINNATI New Bengals defensive end Antwan Odom says he's arriving in Cincinnati with something to prove. Odom was a role player in Tennessee, where he was overshadowed by Pro Bowl teammates Kyle Vanden Bosch and Albert Haynesworth. He had eight sacks last season, but the Titans took the risk of letting him become a free agent. Last night, Odom agreed to a five-year, 29.5 million dollar deal with Cincinnati. The 6-foot-5, 274-pound pass rusher will get a chance to show he can be an elite player without Pro Bowl teammates around him. The signing comes as the Bengals try to fix a defense that has been among the league's worst the last three seasons. |
