Sam O'Dell was second-best earlier this summer at the West Virginia Open. Heading into Thursday's fourth and final round of the 94th Annual West Virginia State Amateur, the Hurricane resident is the leader.

O'Dell has a nine-shot lead over Alan Cooke of Vienna. O'Dell has led all three days of the tournament being staged at The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs.

After two days on the Greenbrier Course, the golfers head back to the Old White TPC for Thursday's final round. The Old White was the venue for day one at the State Am.
