He played his college golf just down the road from America's Resort - The Greenbrier.
Now, former Virginia Tech Hokie Johnson Wagner is hoping to celebrate a title in his one-time backyard on Sunday.
Wagner leads after three rounds in edition number four of The Greenbrier Classic. Wagner fired a 64 Saturday on the Old White TPC Course moving to -14 after 54 holes of play. Wagner opened play Thursday with a 62 before an even par 70 on Friday.
Jimmy Walker is two strokes back at 12-under while Jonas Blixt stands in third at -10.
Walker has a victory in West Virginia, capturing the Pete Dye Classic on the Web.com Tour in 2007.
There are three players - Steven Bowditch, Matt Jones and Jordan Spieth - tied for fourth at 9-under.
Four more are at -8.
Round two leader Matt Every fell into a tie for 27th after shooting a 4-over 74 Saturday.
The Greenbrier Pro Emeritus Tom Watson is now tied for 62nd after his round of 72 on Saturday. Watson had rounds of 68 and 9, respectively on Thursday and Friday. The World Golf Hall of Fame member is playing in his 605th TOUR event.
