Power Evens Series With Hagerstown

(Charleston, WV, June 8, 2013): The West Virginia Power beat the Hagerstown Suns 1-0 Saturday night at Appalachian Power Park. South Atlantic League All-Star Orlando Castro tossed seven innings en route to victory.
West Virginia scored the only run of the game in the bottom of the sixth. Walker Gourley led off the inning with a single and advanced first-to-third on a sacrifice bunt by Dilson Herrera when nobody from Hagerstown covered third. Eric Wood followed with an RBI double to right, bringing home Gourley.
Castro (7-3) earned the win by allowing two hits over seven innings. The all-star struck out five batters and saw his ERA lower to 1.83. Nick Lee (1-2) took the loss for Hagerstown. Kyle Haynes picked up his sixth save this season by inducing three consecutive groundouts.
West Virginia and Hagerstown will conclude their three-game series Sunday afternoon. Tyler Glasnow will pitch against Ivan Pineyro with first pitch scheduled for 2:05. Sunday’s game will be the last game played at Appalachian Power Park in the first half of the season.
