Midland Downs Redskins; HHS Takes Marathon

it took some time before Hurricane and Cabell Midland could play for the Mountain State Athletic Conference baseball championship. That's because the consolation game was a marathon between Huntington and Spring Valley. The Highlanders finally prevailed, 16-14.
In the title showdown, Midland battled back from a 2-0 deficit to knock off the Redskins, 4-2.
In other high school baseball Tuesday, Chapmanville bested Sissonville, 3-1.
On the college diamond, WVU fell to Pitt while Marshall topped Morehead State.
