Huntington is rolling out the red carpet...and mats for the state's top high school wrestlers.
Day one of the 66th annual State Tournament is underway at the Big Sandy Superstore Arena in Huntington.
After the opening evening's action on Thursday, Huntington and Parkersburg were tied for the team lead in Class AAA with 34 points. Wirt County was the leader in Class AA-A with 28.
Action continues Friday. The semifinals will take place in the evening session. The finals in 14 weight divisions of the two classes will be Saturday night.
Meanwhile, its the final week of the regular season for boys high school basketball. South Charleston, Poca and Mingo Central picked up wins on Thursday.
