Class A Championship:
Zach Wamsley scored on a 1-yard run in overtime and quarterback Trenton Gibbs converted the two-point conversion run to give Wahama a 43-42 overtime win over Madonna in the Class A championship game Saturday night.
No. 3 seeded Wahama (14-0) earned its first state title.
Ross Comis had a record six touchdowns for No. 4 Madonna (12-2), including five on the ground. His 2-yard TD run in overtime and the extra-point kick put the Blue Dons ahead 42-35.
Wahama got the ball at the 20 and needed three plays to score. After a timeout to set up the conversion play, Gibbs ran outside left tackle into the end zone to seal the championship.
Kane Roush finished with 170 rushing yards, Wamsley had 112 and both scored three times for Wahama.

Class AAA Championship:
Justin "Cookie" Clinton threw for two touchdowns and ran for another Saturday to lead No. 2 Martinsburg to a 38-14 win over top-seeded Cabell Midland for the Bulldogs' third straight Class AAA championship.
Clinton passed for 127 yards and threw for 93 more at Wheeling Island Stadium. Teammate Trey Boyd rushed for 193 yards and two TDs.
Boyd set a Class AAA championship game record for the longest run from scrimmage with an 83-yard scoring dash in the second quarter.
The Bulldogs (13-1) became the second team to win three straight Class AAA championships. Charleston High accomplished the feat from 1968-70.
David Gaydosz rushed for 133 yards and two scores and Lowell Farley ran for 120 yards for Cabell Midland (13-1).
