Among the area teams that will enter the Class AA playoff field this weekend are Roane County, Scott and Mingo Central.
Scott is the only one of the three who will be at home for the opening round. The No. 7 Skyhawks will meet No. 10 Wyoming East on Friday night.
Roane County, the No. 12 seed, will be on the road at historic Mitchell Stadium to play No. 5 Bluefield.
Speaking of historic, Mingo Central will play the first postseason game in school history on Saturday as they meet up with the Golden Tornado of Keyser. Mingo Central is in year number two.
