It's Sweetness with the Mountaineer basketball program for the second time in three years under the guidance of head coach Bob Huggins.
West Virginia dispatched Missouri in the second round of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament with a 68-59 victory Sunday at the HSBC Arena in Buffalo. The Mountaineers will now journey a short distance to the Carrier Dome in Syracuse for a Sweet 16 showdown on Thursday with Washington.
Da'Sean Butler led the Mountaineers in the win over Missouri with 29 points, including 19 of the team's 30 in the first half. Kevin Jones had 13 points and nine rebounds for the Mountianeers.
WVU, the No. 2 seed in the East Region, moves to 29-6 on the season. Washington is the No. 11 seed.
This is the fifth time WVU has reached the Sweet 16.
