North-South Footballfrom Eyewitness News Online Frashier & Lilly To Lead N-S Teams
The head coaches have been selected for this June's WCHS-TV/FOX 11 North-South All-Star Football Classic. Ripley's Jimmy Frashier will lead the North team while John H. Lilly of Beckley Woodrow Wilson will guide the the South squad.
Frashier and Lilly were chosen by the West Virginia Coaches Association. Both Frashier and Lilly have worked the game before as assistant coaches. This year's contest is set for June 19 at University of Charleston Stadium in Charleston. Frashier is a graduate of Ripley High School and Glenville State College. Lilly is a former player at Bluefield High School and Concord College. Before their present posts, Frashier was the head coach at Wirt County High School and Lilly was the leader of Shady Spring's program. Frashier's staff will consist of Ripley assistant coach Justin Frashier, Lewis County head coach Eddie Vincent and Martinsburg head coach Dave Walker. Lilly's staff will feature retiring Capital head coach Jack Woolwine, Hurricane head coach Willis May and St. Albans assistant coach Tank Scarbrough. The WCHS-TV/FOX 11 North-South All-Star Football Classic features 72 of the West Virginia's top high school football players each year. The players will work out for a week at West Virginia State University in Institute.
