Celtics 89 Cavaliers 73
BOSTON

LeBron James can't hit a basket and the Cleveland Cavaliers can't buy a victory.

The Boston Celtics have a 2-0 lead in the Eastern Conference semifinals after holding the Cavaliers under 36 percent shooting in an 89-73 win over the Cavaliers. James was the biggest culprit, missing 18 of his 24 shots after going 2-for-18 in the Cavs' 76-72 loss at Boston in the series opener.

Paul Pierce and Ray Allen rediscovered their shooting touch after combining for four points in Game 1. Pierce shot 7-for-13 and finished with 19 points and six rebounds. Allen added 16 points for the Celtics, who also got 13 points and 12 rebounds from Kevin Garnett.

The game turned after the Cavaliers took a 24-17 into the second quarter. Cleveland shot just 11.8 percent in the second period to help the Celtics grab an eight-point lead by halftime.

James had a team-high 21 points for the Cavs, who shot 2-for-13 from three-point range. Zydrunas Ilgauskas added 19 points, nine after the first quarter.

Game three is Saturday in Cleveland.
