HAIR DAMAGE
IN HEALTH NEWS, MOST WOMEN BLOW DRY AND STYLE THEIR HAIR AS PART OF THEIR MORNING ROUTINE.

BUT MANY OF OUR STYLING HABITS CAN WREAK HAVOC ON OUR HAIR.

Return to Story Index

VO HAIR DAMAGE
THE WORSE ENEMY FOR HAIR IS, YOU GUESSED IT HEAT.

BLOW DRYERS, CURLING IRONS OR FLAT IRONS, LEAVES THE HAIR LOOKING DULL AND PRONE TO SPLIT ENDS.

SO HOW CAN YOU PREVENT DAMAGING IT.... FIRST, LET YOUR HAIR AIR DRY.

NO TIME? SET YOUR HAIR DRYER TO COLD.... AND KEEP THE DRYER AT LEAST 6 INCHES AWAY FROM THE HAIR.

FINALLY DON'T COMB YOUR HAIR WHEN ITS WET - BUT IF YOU MUST, USE A FAT TOOTH COMB - BUT THERE ARE SOME EXECEPTIONS.

IF YOU ARE AN AFRICAN AMERICAN, IT IS BETTER TO COMB AND BRUSH THE HAIR WHILE IT IS WET.

OTHER PIECES OF ADVICE? ONLY USE IRONS EVERY OTHER DAY AND CUT DOWN ON THE HAIRSPRAY.
