Meredith Wood
After spending two years in the Midwest, I'm glad to finally be back below the Mason-Dixon Line.I grew up in the small town of Anniston, AL. After graduating high school, I moved to Tuscaloosa to fulfill a life time dream of becoming a Crimson Tide girl where I was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority. Roll Tide!!! At the University of Alabama, I worked at WVUA as a reporter and producer. While there I won several Alabama Associated Press Awards and a Society of Professional Journalists Award. After graduating from UA, I moved to Rock Island, Ill. (The Quad Cities) to report for the CBS affiliate WHBF. At WHBF I did a little bit of everything, from reporting to anchoring (I even carried my own camera equipment!). I covered many big stories in the Quad Cities, including the brutal murder of a teenage girl that received national attention and the aftermath of a series of tornadoes at the University of Iowa. When not working, I can most likely be found shopping, painting really bad artwork, doing yoga, and of course, cheering on the Alabama Crimson Tide. I am excited to be in West Virginia where no one looks at me funny for saying "y'all" or ordering sweet tea. I strive to do my best to bring you information you care about and need. Feel free to drop me a line and let me know about things important to you, so that we here at WCHS can better serve you, the viewer.
